It has been over 3 months since the Teddy Little Light family (Wife Juliet Toineeta-Little Light and their now almost 6 month-old Infant, Wyatt Little Light have been MISSING from Crow Agency, Montana, near the Wyoming border. They had moved to Crow Agency (Crow Indian Reservation) for work and were both employed. Teddy Little Light is a carpenter/flooring worker and Juliet Toineeta- Little Light was employed by Associated Food . They were last seen dropping off Christmas presents at Teddy’ mother’s home, where Teddy’s then 2 yr.-old son is staying. The Montana police were called when the Little Light family did not appear at a funeral for Juliet’s grandmother who passed to Spirit on Dec. 29, 2008. The Little Light’s had said they were on their way to Wyola, South of Crow Agency. No one has seen them since Dec. 23, 2008. Their pickup truck was found Jan 05, 2009, after an anonymous caller tipped police to it’s whereabouts. The truck was founnd West of Lodgegrass (a mid-point between Crow Agency and Wyola, if going South). The vehicle was found in a very remote area between Lodge Grass and Ft. Smith, on an "unimproved road" called Grapevine Rd. The truck was in running condition with "no signs of a struggle" according to police. Yet the area is a wide open prairie which had patches of snow. How thorough was the investigation of the area where their vehicle was found?
There were two "tips" that Teddy had been seen at Lee’s Bar in Billings around New Years Eve, and that Juliet had been seen at Kohl’s on Dec. 27, 2008. Neither "tip" proved to be true. A "mission" was also checked for Teddy, but that proved fruitless as well. He had not been there.
The FBI was finally called in Under Major Crimes Act, but much too late in the crucial hours following a disappearance in "Indian Country", as per usual! THIRTY DAYS had passed!
Another news aricle shows that one "Undersheriff" did NOT take the situation seriously.
"Officials do not believe foul play is involved in the family’s disappearance, Undersheriff Rondell Davis said."
(Jan 7, 2009 Billings Gazette)
As of Jan. 07, 2009, the "search" was being led by the B. I. A.
In the same article above:
The family had pled with the public and officials in the case for help at a Press Conference with over 40 people in attendance! The conference pictures show obviously distraught family members and extended family who must have felt like they were slapped in the face by Undersheriff Rondell Davis’s statement! Other, similar statements were made which were insulting and disregarded the seriousness of the situation as well.
An aerial search of the area had "been conducted" with no results according to several local newspapers.
A ground search was conducted in January after the family had been missing over one month.
NOTHING else has been in the news as to what is going on with searches or an investigation into this matter.
No Amber Alert was made for infant Wyatt, because he was not seen being abducted? Actually, that is my surmising as to WHY no Amber Alert was made and why then 3 month-old Wyatt was not considered "elligbile" for an Amber Alert.
I guess a Three-Month-Old "Indian" BABY is Not IMPORTANT!? (Disgusted)
Little to no National Media attention has been given to this case. Nancy Grace had about a 10 second "blurb" on HLN on her show with a brief poster of the family. MSNBC had a short news blurb as well.
We have many children and people missing in this country each year… In fact, hundreds of thousands!
About 10-12,000 "American Indians" go missing each year.
About 250, 000 African-Americans go missing each year (stats based on 2007 government data)
Many Caucausians go missing and so do Hispanics.
Some are parent abductions, or runaways. BUT, THIS family is not in either of those categories according to the family left behind.
They are always in touch, very close to their family and extended family, and deserve more media attention than what has been given…
After some research that I have done, I am wondering about two things that I think the FBI should look into if they aren’t or haven’t.
One, a man with one of the same last names won a large sum of money in the Montana Lottery in December, but didn’t report his winning ticket until January. Two, there is a violent register offender (weapons/assault) by another of the last names who lived near the railroad Tracks in Lodge Grass. Have they been questioned.
A third explanation is that the family may be in a witness protection program? But, it is unlikely that the Missing Posters which came out quite some time after the family went Missing would be up and on-line.
Therefore, something must have happened to this family and it IS FOUL PLAY or WORSE!
The authorities in this investigation should have taken this case seriously from the start, but didn’t.
There is a two-year old boy wondering where his Daddy is. There is a 30 year-old young man and his 25 year-old wife MISSING!
There is an INFANT MISSING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What is wrong with this picture????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
What’s wrong is the as per usual… No one gives a hoot when someone goes Missing in "Indian Country"!
You won’t hear about the case; the case won’t be on Nancy Grace night after night with repeated details ad nauseum! Or Headline News (HLN).
WHO will step up to the plate and do THEIR JOB in this matter?
If the FBI is now handling the case, you can forget about that! It took the FBI over two and 1/2 YEARS to release the body of Jilleda Jay John, Navajo Indian, Del Muerto, AZ and the case is still an UNSOLVED Homicide (yet from my computer, I found some possibly likely suspects!) The family AND the state and local police are then "kept out of the loop" in the so-called "Investigation". These families have no one else to turn to but US, The People.
If we don’t keep discussing this case and showing support for the family, the Little Light family will be FORGOTTEN like just about every other case in "Indian Country"!
PLEASE LOOK AT THE POSTER AND ARTICLES HERE AND SEND THE INFO FAR AND WIDE. SOMEONE KNOWS SOMETHING AND CAN CALL THE POLICE AND/OR CRIMESTOPPERS WHO CAN NOTIFY THE FBI. YOU CAN REMAIN ANONYMOUS. PLEASE, FOR THE SAKE OF A BABY AND THIS YOUNG COUPLE, DO NOT LET THIS BE ANOTHER UNSOLVED, UNINVESTIGATED COLD CASE… IN "INDIAN COUNTRY"…
